OK, so we have talked about getting started and also the importance of getting a mentor. You you’re your equipment, now we get to talk about the actual boots on the ground VO stuff.  When I say the actual vo stuff I mean where to go to audition. It’s not like there is some newspaper that is soley directed to auditions…oh, wait…besides LA I guess.

With everything going remote with COVID, and managers seeing how cost effective going remote is, there are literally thousands of auditions for VO and acting gigs that are strictly remote.  You could have a director from Ohio, with a sound engineer from the next town over and talent on the east coast.

I know, but where are these auditions…If you’re like me you didn’t even know where to start….it’s overwhelming.

ACX (https://www.acx.com/): For audio books:

Fiverr (https://www.fiverr.com/): where folks scout you out, you put demos up and explainers of what you can do

Upwork (https://www.upwork.com/): you seek out gigs, you have a certain amount of submissions you can make, don’t worry you can always buy more.

Voices 123 (https://voice123.com/) you get matched based on your profile and encouraged  to audition. There are a few different tiers of membership…the higher the tier you get first dibs.

Voices (https://www.voices.com/): I personally have not joined this site. It is the same as voices123.

Actors Access (https://actorsaccess.com/):  70 bucks a year and you can audition for VO and remote modeling and acting gigs (I love this site). Not many know about this, my mentor told me about it.

Most of these sites charge you for membership. However, you spend money to make money right?? Voices 123 medium membership is around $350.00 bucks a year, and It’s premium is 5000.00 per year. If you go the medium membership and get a gig that pays 300 bucks…BOOM you got most of your money back. We will be talking about setting up an LLC soon…and then we can talk about those business expenses. Till then, I’ve given you the road map, now it’s up to you to get those auditions in. I know you can do it! Weather you’re doing VO as a side hustle or trying to make a full time gig, these are the websites that will help you get started and stay rolling!!
